New Kitten
(Kristen Writing)
So I was walking to the beach one morning, for my 6am walk with my friend, and I heard this “mew” “mew” sound coming from somewhere. I looked around, wondering where this cat was, and I saw this tiny little kitten. He was hobbling toward the street, kind of looking like he was walking aimlessly. He was hobbling because one of his back feet/legs was deformed. There was a leg, but no foot, just a stub.
There was a group of people standing near where the kitten was, so I assumed he belonged to them. I kept walking, but the kitten just wouldn’t stop meowing. I looked back again and again, hoping that someone standing there would notice. Finally, the last time I looked back, the kitten slid down the curb and into a puddle. It was a cold morning and this kitten, no bigger than my hand, was sitting in a puddle. I couldn’t take it anymore, I turned around and went back to the kitten. I picked him up and asked this guy who’s cat it was, he waved me off as if to say “take it, take it.” So I did. I took the kitten. I met my friend at the beach and realized that I had just given away my other cat a month ago, now another kitten is in my life! What do I do?!
After some talking, my friend offered to take the cat in her house while I looked for a home. I emailed the first person who came to my mind, and it turns out, she wants him! The kitten has a home!
Here are some pictures of the little kitten. If circumstances were different, I would totally keep him. He’s adorable and still so young. His eyes are still blue.
