Mỹ Sơn
Kristen, Jeremiah and I took the nearly two-hour drive to visit Mỹ Sơn. It is the site of 4th-14th century temple ruins from the Cham Kingdom. It was a beautiful country drive. We were also able to meet up with one of my former students who works on the Mỹ Sơn conservation reconstructing many of the temples that were bombed during the American war.
Visit to the Countryside
We traveled about 2 hours by motorbike to the countryside of Tam Ky, Vietnam. We visited our friends family who's house is surrounded by beautiful green rice fields.
Kristen's Gig
Kristen was recently invited to be the female, American voice for the Da Nang airport. Here are three pictures from her gig.
Beach Day
We took the children from Promise House to the beach (not to swim) but to run around and play games. There aren't any good recreational parks in the city, so the beach is the perfect place to get out and run around!
Western River
High up in the mountains of western Vietnam near the Laos border is a district called Tay Giang (Western River). There are two schools there that Orphan Voice is connected with. We went to the two schools to deliver shoes, pillows, blankets, pencils, books and toys to the 1,000 children who board at the two schools.
Da Nang by Night
For a while I have been wanting to take some photos of the city bridges at night. Finally I got around to doing so.
Christmas Party
We had a wonderful Christmas celebration with the children at Promise House. It was a day of games, crafts, delicious food and gifts.
